The latest phase of the Hall’s refurbishment programme; namely upgrading the bargeboards, has now been completed. The new bargeboards have retained their characteristic shape but match the new external doors, we hope you like the Hall’s new look! The Accoya wood, with its natural finish was selected for its durability and longevity, providing the benefit of reduced regular maintenance.
Over £70,000 has now been spent over the last 2 years on upgrading and refurbishing the Hall.
The works have focused on the electrical installation, heating, fire system and ventilation, as well as new internal doors. During the latest phase, in addition to the new bargeboards and new external doors, some fenestration and other minor essential repairs have been dealt with.
The next phase will be focused on the requirement to repair/replace the roof and install ceiling insulation. The specification for the roofing works is being prepared and will then be costed by the retained contractors. Watch this space for further news about “raising the roof”!
The Committee would like to thank Elly Finn and Donna Devaney for supervising the works on behalf of the Hall, working closely with Kirkham Board (Building and Quantity Surveyors) and Westcountry Maintenance Services (the building contractors) for all the hard work undertaken to date and their ongoing commitment to the project.
