Saturday 16th December saw the inaugural It’s Discotime! in the Cornworthy Village Hall – it was a sell-out event and, despite the impact of the latest outbreak of Covid and colds, there was a very healthy turn-out! Obviously, the key driver of the event was Cornworthy’s very own DJ Paul Mcloughlin who mixed the tracks to ensure the dancefloor stayed packed all evening. The team of “Disco Divas”, Elly Finn and Donna Devaney, ably assisted by Colin and Bronwen Thompson, had decorated the Hall to create a wonderful nightclub ambience. The Hunters Lodge Inn mobile bar meant the dancers never became thirsty – huge thanks to Grahame and Sue Nutt and their team. Meanwhile, delicious chili con and non carne was served to keep up the energy levels! Huge thanks to: Mike Tozer who contributed the beef; to Emma Banks who cooked all the chili con carne; to David Carver and Bronwen and Colin Thompson who cooked the vegetarian/vegan options; and to Kelvin Gitsham for technical support!
The event raised over £600 which will go towards the maintenance of the Hall. The Committee would like to thank everyone involved, not forgetting the disco dancers! for making this Christmas party night such a success!
